Me Period Day is About Empowering Our Daughters

As part of our BWHI Anniversary Week, we are launching Me Period Day on National Daughters Day, September 25th, and we want you to join us.

Me Period Day is all about creating space for Black mothers and caregivers to foster open, honest conversations with their daughters about menstruation. It’s a day to encourage young people to connect with their bodies, establish healthy habits, and become powerful advocates for their own health.

But that’s not all — Me Period Day is also about advocating for menstrual equity. Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 women in the U.S. struggle to afford period products? Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, has access to affordable period products and the information they need to live healthier lives.

To mark this important day, we’re proud to feature a virtual screening of Me Period, our powerful documentary that explores how Black mothers and daughters navigate conversations about menstruation, breaking down barriers and building stronger connections.

Here’s how you can participate in Me Period Day:

  • Watch our virtual screening of Me Period on September 25th at 7 PM ET. Just sign up for a free Kinema account and support our organization by purchasing a $10 ticket.

  • Use our customizable Me Period Day image frames and hashtags to share how you are empowering young people to understand their bodies, build healthy habits, and become strong health advocates.

  • Download our advocacy toolkit to help you talk to your mothers, daughters, and even your state representatives about this important issue.

Thank you for joining us in the movement for menstrual equity.
